We’re so used to hearing that everything is down in publishing. So much so that I’ve heard people say that flat is the new up. Well, at 5280 in Denver, up is the new up.
Under the leadership of Dan Brogan, CEO, 5280 has combined super high quality editorial and audience development execution to create a great story for advertisers…their advertising is UP in 2014!
Dan and his team have done an awesome job at building a magazine that readers love and that people are super excited about being involved with. Since 2005, 5280 has been a finalist for six National Magazine Awards, the magazine industry’s equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize.
The Centofante Group has been working with 5280 magazine for over a dozen years. At the beginning, 5280 had nearly no checkout exposure. The brand was not well known in Denver, it was a bimonthly, and not even a member of the CRMA yet.
Cassie Noyes, 5280’s audience development director, worked closely with The Centofante Group to build their newsstand sales and exposure to readers and advertisers. Sales are now well over $800,000 per year and 5280 now has eye level checkout display in Kroger, Safeway, Whole Foods, Sprouts and more.
In Denver grocery stores, 5280 now outsells Better Homes & Garden, Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, Oprah, Vogue, and Sunset COMBINED.
5280 is now one of the most recognizable brands in Denver.
